Last minute Holiday gifts
Usually every year I try to take the girls pictures to give for Christmas. This year Christmas just came up too fast. So I took one of the pictures that I had taken when doing Dusti's senior pictures to fill that need. So I bought some 2x2 square ceramic magnets at our local craft store. Then I covered those magnets with Claudine Hellmuth art gesso, purchased at Picture This to cover the exsisting design. While still wet I placed the photos already cut to size onto the magnet. Then when completely dry I heat embossed the whole top with clear emboss powder. Voila......instant gifts and a holiday photo.

This is a wedding card I made for my cousins wedding this last weekend. The picture doesn't show all of the features of the card, such ast the gems that started out clear and I colored them to match with my Copic markers. Also the flowers look pretty plain, but the centers are colored with Copics atyou Spica pen to give it that little bit of sparkle and color.
Supplies: Worldwin deep heritage black and light totaly tan cardstock with platinum metalic text weight, ribbon. Copic, Spellbinders and Creative Impressions.

Fall Centerpiece
Recently I was at my local craft store and came across a good sale on fall items. So I thought I would try my hand at making a centerpiece. The piece includes the craft pumpkin, a set of 3 catails, and two bunches of fall flowers, one in browns and one in yellows, and of course the cute little owl made of feathers. Aside from cutting the top off the pumpkin and arranging the florals, I used my awesome new Copic airbrush system to "brown up" the orange pumpkin.

"Back to School" Spellbinders storage.
After I finished the last binder for my Spellbinders I thought there has to be more practical solution. So to keep them all in one binder I decided to take advantage of the back to school items that are out. I started with a zippered three ring binder, some cardboard, Darice magnetic sheets, black paint , and reinforcement labels.
Then I ended with this as a finished product! Right now I have three pages, magnetic front and back, and on just these pages there are 32 sets of spellbinders dies! Then the pocket that is on the inside , I have the rubber mats and a CD case that holds 12 more with the shapes on a square panel. All of this and there is still room for more!
Altered dress form
This is a dress form I found on a clearance shelf and thought ,hmmm I would like to alter that in some way. So I did. I forgot to take a picture of it until I had already painted the limbs and some of the body.
The finished product modeling my first attempt at an "altered" necklace. The limbs are painted with Distress crackle paint, the body with paint daubers and Glimmer Mist. At the waist is Grunge paper cut and embossed with the Cuttlebug, and adorned with black crystals.
The base is sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist the I added the metal word pieces and glass pebbles, with a little Floral Soft climbing up the middle.

And this! This is my first attempt at making a magnetic storage binder for my Spellbinders and Nestabilities. I used thick cardboard, gluing 2 pieces together for added thickness, scored in the places that would have to fold. Using the Big Bite, punched a hole in the front cover and added a TH hitch post, then, covered it with DCW scrapbook paper. As a "latch" I used a "hinge" from TH grungeboard swirls elements and bound it with brads to the fold. Finally I added two 9x12 magnetic sheet to the inside, this covers the post on the inside. I think it turned out pretty well, I will have to make a couple more to get the hang of it though.

The candy tin becomes an altered "trunk". I have a couple of these candy tins laying around that I couldn't throw away, because I can't throw it away if it can be altered! First I "primed it with Studio gesso, then covered it with Distress cranberry crackle paint. The "straps" and corners are pieces of Grunge paper, from Tim Holtz as well as the chain and items hanging from it, black key is from 7 Gypsies. The rest are bits and pieces. This project was a lot of fun, now I want to do a bigger one!

These are "charms" actually keychains, that I made for all the girls that were in our "sleep over" at the Picture This. I began with bottle caps from Design Originals, again flattened in the Cuttlebug. I printed a sheet of "thumbnail" size photos and punched them out with a circle punch. Then glued the photo into the bottle cap with Glossy Accents, also covering the top to make a clear hard finish. When dry I punched a hole in the top with the Crop-a-dile, then adding the chain. Not pictured is one made for our very own "Cake Lady" Melissa ,who made and awesome scrapbook cake for our National Scrapbooking Day event.

I love magnets, so I wanted to alter something that I could use more of them. I altered a "pizza" pan, with Studio gesso as a primer, then used distress inks and paint daubers . Heat embossed the key hole, and added the metal key from K&Company. The magnets are bottle caps from Design Originals that I flattened with my Cuttlebug. I copied the photos and punched out the faces and place them in the center of the bottle caps with Glossy accents on the top. The photos are of my great grandparents wedding and the other is of my grandfather and me. Altered and vintage, I just love it all!

My attempt at a little altered art pin. I cut the butterfly ( Spellbinders) from grungeboard( Tim Holtz). Painted with aged mahogany Distress crackle paint, let dry. Then embossed with Cuttlebug textile emboss folder, sanded the raised image and inked it with aged mahogany Distress ink. Punched a hole just bottom of the center add a large game spinner (TH) with a brad. From the backside hang a swivel clasp (TH) , with a philosophy tag, off of the brad this one says altered. Secure a pin back to the backside, bend up the wings a little and its done. I may add some Glitz to it later. Love that Tim Holtz!
