On a recent trip to Eau Claire, Karli and I stopped at Picture This to get a much needed "fix". While I was walking around the store Karli went to meet the newest additions to the PT team, Cosmo and Cricket. It seems that Karli and Cricket have become fast friends , he was even chirping for her and giving her kisses. They are a nice little break when you just need a little friend.

First Christmas
Well tis the season! Here is our first tree in our new place. Thanks to great friends and family we got a "tree" and dont have to use the cactus and we can actually light it up. Now if the cats would leave the ornaments at the bottom alone and stop twisting up the skirt! But what fun would that be they love Christmas too!
Have a very save and happy holiday!

Birdcage
We're back! Welcome back to this months FAB5 challenge. Todays item of choice was the pink GCD paper. I used the T.H. emboss folder and spun sugar distress ink to give the paper more depth. The birdcage is cut from a pop can , yes I said a pop can. Diet Coke can to be exact, and roughed it up a little with my T.H. distress tool. Leaves are from T.H. Regal crest die, flowers from Prima.

Distressed around the edges with Tim Holtz weathered wood distressed ink, stamped the Inkadinkadoo humming bird with black soot distress ink. To finish it off I spritzed it with Glacier Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

My Karli
Day 4 of the FAB 5 challenge this time with Basic Grey paper. This paper was much easier to work with and it just happend that I had just the right photos to use with it. This is my youngest Karli and all her freckles. Tools used on this project include Spellbinders, Ribbons Tag Trio, Classic Frame and Rose ( I believe this one is retired), and Martha Stewart border punch. On the roses , tag and frame I also used the Copic airbrush system to add dimention and color, this is done before removing the paper from the die. After the crash!
Sorry about the delay for todays design challenge. I was working on it last night when my computer crashed! But it is all up and running now so there will be no more delays!
Todays challenge was this peacock paper from Tinkering Ink. I started with a plain wooden box and sprayed it with my Copic markers and airbrush system. I then cut out the peacocks and placed them on either side, wrapping the tail feathers around the back. A Martha Stewart punch was used to punch the "straps" for the top of the trunk. This one was a bit of a challenge but it all worked out great. Keep watching for future design team challenges!

New purse
I decided there had to be a way to make other styles of bag from Duct tape. In a previous post you saw the 3 bags that are more tote like. I decided to try one with a flap over the top and a magnetic catch. It took a little planning and guessing but I think it turned out pretty well. This will come in handy as my new work purse . Being made of Duct tape makes it durable and cool, so all the tools I need to carry will be kept together. Check back for future styles.
