FAB5 Day 5

Yet another way to use Flower Soft. You have seen it used on stamped images, premade greeting cards , I have even used it on scrapbook papers. Why not use it on an acual photo? This is one of my favorite pictures of an old friend that has since passed. He sure was fun to dress up and I think he liked almost as much as we did. Remember get creative, Flower soft comes in a wide range of colors and will compliment anything you want to use it on.

FAB5 Day 5

Today is 3D. Im loving the images on acetate by Susan Louis so using a Spellbinders circle die I cut this cool santa out. Carefully rolling the image up I placed it inside this craft ornament. Using a little flowersoft glue I also added some Polar White Diamond Range Flower Soft for the look of snow inside this ornament.

FAB5 Day 3

Today we are using acetate images from Susan Louis. I made this card so that the image seemed suspended in the middle of the window cut from Spellbinders. These are wonderful images on acetate and there is quite a nice selection to pick from in the store.

Lovely lilacs

I had to get pictures of the beautiful and very fragrant lilacs the outline my new front yard. It had to have taken years for these bushes to grow up and out so nice. There are even THREE different colors! I love the most common light colored one but I am very intrigued by the dark colored one in the last picture. This is the first time I have ever seen one this dark.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful and safe Memorial holiday weekend celebrating our freedom given to us by our loved ones who have fought for us to have it.

Some things old become new again

This is my "new" birdbath! Incase you all havent heard, my daughter Karli and I have moved into a different house. Things being as they are we have been doing a lot of making old things new. This is an old globe or light fixture if you will that was left in our new home. It is so beautiful but so heavy, I am afraid to hang it. So I decided that as big as it is , it would look awesome as a birdbath. Soooooo using my Copic markers ( love my Copics) I colored the flowers and vines on the raised side of the fixture, then used Super Seal over it to preserve it. Then I sealed the hole in the middle with a gasket and bolt. The base, I found at an awesome store I visit when ever I can. I stood alone , so I inquired. The basin had been broken ..... so I was able to purchase for a very small fee. When the grass gets a little greener it well look even better in front of the lilacs.

Day 5

This page is done using the Curved rectangles and Large ovals dies from spellbinders. "Royalty" is actually a fabric iron on bling. I wouldnt recomend using things like this as I pretty much had to put this on gem for gem as it is not made for paper and packaged to go on easy.

Hope you have enjoyed all the wonderful ideas with this months Fab5 projects.

For day 3 I thought I would get a jump on Easter. For this I used the Egg Spellbinders die. For one egg holder I used the mid sized one to make a big one to cover the egg. the other is the holder plus a small border of "grass" using the MS grass punch. Then added 3 of the smallest eggs. Its kind of hard to see but I also colored the egg with my Copic Airbrushing system, that was quite fun. Enjoy and check back for tomorrows next Spellbinders project.

Fab5 Day 3 and 4

Day three we have the cute bandaged House Mouse and his little friend. Sorry I dont remember their names but my daughter Karli used to know all of them just by looking at them. This card I tore the paper and punched holes on each half and then laced ribbon to kind of give a stitched affect. This image colored with Copic markers .

For day four we have the cute hedgehog from Stampabilities House Mouse. This as all my others is also colored with Copic markers. With Smiles and Laughter stamp from Hero Arts, accented with a piece of green sheer ribbon with white polka dots.
Feeling like getting the Copics out to color yet?

Please pardon the interuption

I do know this doesnt look anything like a House Mouse , I have been rather incapacitated this evening so Day 3 has not gotten its finishing touches. Hopefully you enjoy this just as much and tomorrow you will get "2" mice.
This is a flower that I made from 4" satin ribbon. Each layer is a random circle cut and then airbrushed with my Copic system. Then the edges heated enought to make it curl. Be carful it will burn!. Then all secured with a gem brad.

Fab5 day 2

Fab5 day five

Today I have the old buzzard. This image also includes a Judith rock stamp in which I masked off and then stamped the buzzard to make it look as if he is behind the rocks and colored with Copic markers. The background is Cuttlebug emboss folder and the scalloped circles I punch with Maurvy punches. Also some oldies but goodies are the eyelets added for a little dimention. If you havent used eyelets you should give them a try , they can add a lot to your card or page.

Thursday, January 20, 2011

Fab5 Domino

Here we go the start of another Fab5 project week. This month we are featuring Judith stamps. I have been wanting to do something with a big tin of dominos that have been lying around for quite some time now. Starting with the domino I used alcohol inks to color the background, having chosen meadow and butterscotch as colors I thought would go nicely with the Judith cone flower stamp. I used a Sharpie to write my name and added a sun charm and a pin back.
Hope you enjoy our week featuring Judith.
Be inspired :D

New light

I had a broken light cover ...... so I thought.... I can save and reuse! I save the bulb hugging part of the cover, "refinished" it with some copper alcohol ink. Now the cover part is packaging material I have saved from things like my Spellbinders and Tim Holtz dies. I Cut them with T.H. Tattered floral die and then colored them with my alcohol inks. They are all fasteded together with silver eyelets, yes I said eyelets. Does anybody use them anymore? I love them! Voila my new light cover. Anything goes when you are creating...... now get creative :)
